The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on January 14, 2019:

The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India has condemned the action of police to submit a charge sheet after 1000 days and to falsely implicate Kanhaiya Kumar the ex-president of JNU. This is politically motivated action by police to please the masters and has been done keeping coming Lok Sabha election in mind. This is how the present government is subverting the authority to serve its political need. We are confident that people will see this game and defeat the designs of government.
