LEFT PARTIES APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC OF INDIA
Left Parties along with other secular democratic parties and opposition in general have called for a countrywide hartal on 5th July from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The menace of price rise affects all sections of the people.
In this context we appeal to all sections of people to participate massively in the hartal and express their vigorous protest against the UPA Government’s policies which are responsible for inflicting the unbearable burden on the masses.
We appeal to the Trading Community, - retail traders,- market associations etc. to voluntarily suspend business and keep their shutters down.
We appeal to all the transporters’ associations, trucks and buses, both private and public, taxis and rickshaws to keep off the streets as a mark of protest.
We appeal to all student organisations and the teaching community to keep schools, colleges and other educational institutions closed.
We appeal to the organised and unorganized workers, industrial associations of and all sections employees to strike work and join the hartal.
Essential services like milk, water, hospitals are exempt from participation in the hartal.
We hope that the success of the hartal will give a message to the Government to reverse its policies, roll back the decontrol of fuel, and stop any moves for further de-control.
