MANGALORE: The Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) and Janata Dal have called for all India bandh opposing the hike in the prices of fuel for the second time on July 5.
At a joint press conference here on Friday, CPI district secretary P Sanjeeva and CPM district secretary B Madhava said the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has delivered yet another blow by hiking the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene oil and LPG gas for the second time in a span of one year.
The hartal would be observed from 6am to 6pm. But essential services including supply of water, milk, electricity, hospital and emergency services would be exempted from the hartal, they said.
